Tight End (TE) is one of the trickiest positions to fill on a fantasy football roster and in a starting lineup. The line of demarcation between the elite fantasy producers and the rest of the field is quite distinct. That great divide comes once Travis Kelce, Mark Andrews and George Kittle come off draft boards. Rising 2023 fantasy prospects include the Minnesota’s TJ Hockenson, Steelers’ Pat Freiermuth, Kyle Pitts of the Falcons, and the Bears’ 3rd year riser of 2021, Cole Kmet. There are pass-catching TEs, playmakers, chain-movers and blockers and rare is the TE that can do it all. 3-down TEs are fast becoming extinct. Playing the SOS in detail is a smart and effective way to manage the TE position. Many fantasy team owners tend to draft TEs later, hoping to mix and match the best option weekly.
