This move is not surprising at all, considering the fact that the knee swelling issue for WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) will require surgery that will cost him all of the 2026 season. While WR Deebo Samuel is not the player he once was, he fits like a glove in HC Kyle Shanahan's offense. He knows the system and can be used as a runner too to keep RB Christian McCaffrey fresh.
