2024 PSDG: Are Third-Year WRs Still a Thing for Fantasy? (Preview)
Steve Virgen - 5/15/2024

Is the third-year wide receiver breakout still a thing in 2024?

Ten years ago or even 20 years ago it seemed to be the case every year that a receiver really took off in their third year.

Last year, among the more big-name starting receivers we saw Amon-Ra St. Brown, Ja’Marr Chase and Nico Collins fit the prototype of the receiver taking off in their third year. Chase had already been well established and a top 5 receiver in 2023 drafts. It was actually Brown who finished higher than Chase and Collins.

Brown, the Lions’ big-play wide receiver, also got a big pay day: a four-year, $120 million extension, including a $77 million guarantee. The guaranteed money is the most for a wide receiver in a single contract in NFL history, according to ESPN.

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."
