The Athletic reports on the first snap of 11-on-11 drills Friday, Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (leg) went to make a short catch over the middle and was laid out by San Francisco 49ers CB Charvarius Ward. When Adams stayed down on the field in pain afterward, players and coaches from both teams immediately huddled around him. Adams was obviously in discomfort when he was eventually helped to his feet by the Raiders’ training staff. He needed assistance to make it to the sideline but was then able to stand under his own power while a trainer started to examine his right leg. A few moments later, Adams took a seat on a cooler and kept his head down while a crew of trainers huddled around him. Several minutes passed before he stood up again with a leg sleeve on his right shin. He gingerly limped his way down the sideline and talked to a couple of trainers before exiting the practice field and heading into the training room. It was a scary scene for Adams and the Raiders, but a league source said that his injury is minor. While that’s a favorable outcome, the timeline for his return to action is unclear. “I don’t think it was crazy serious,” HC Josh McDaniels said after practice. “It was a bang-bang play.”

Fox5 in Las Vegas reports Raiders HC Josh McDaniels shot down the notion the team likely would go with a more equitable distribution of carries even if the NFL’s leading rusher last season is back in the lineup. Franchised RB Josh Jacobs is sitting out after not agreeing to a long-term contract. “You go with what’s the best thing to do for the team, and certainly that was (Jacobs) last year and I wouldn’t expect that to be different this year,” McDaniels said. “But every game is a little different, every situation is a little different, the health of the team, etc. These guys all have great opportunities right now and that’s what they are focused on and trying to control their improvement day to day, and they are working really hard at doing that.” RB Zamir White, drafted in the fourth round last year out of Georgia, has been taking first-team snaps. He played in 14 games last season, but had only 17 carries for 70 yards. Jacobs was handed the ball 340 times, rushing for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also caught 53 passes for 400 yards.
