Arizona Cardinals March Scouting Report
David Vohs
3/30/2018

The Arizona Cardinals will look a lot different than the 2017 group that went 7-9. Gone is Coach Bruce Arians and a lot of coaches. The Cardinals hired Coach Steve Wilks from the Carolina Panthers and the transition has begun. Let’s look at the positions prior to the NFL Draft.

QB: Gone: QB Carson Palmer (retired), QB Drew Stanton (Browns), QB Blaine Gabbert (Titans). QB Matt Barkley (Bengals) Additions: QB Sam Bradford (from Vikings), QB Mike Glennon (from Bears), and probably a draft pick in the first or second round of the 2018 NFL Draft for a QB. This is a huge area of concern.

RB: Gone: RB Adrian Peterson. Additions: None Unknown: RB Kerwynn Williams still remains unsigned as a free agent. RB David Johnson will be the bell cow and look for the Cardinals to grab a running back later in the draft for depth. This is not an area of concern. RB Elijhaa Penny and RB DJ Foster provide depth.

WR: Gone: WR Jaron Brown, WR John Brown, WR Brittan Golden (unsigned) Additions: WR Larry Fitzgerald staying!!! WR JJ Nelson, WR Chad Johnson (3rd round pick last year). WE need to address this position. This is a huge area of concern.

TE: TE Troy Niklas and TE Ifeanyi Momah are both unsigned currently.

OL: Gone is OL Jared Veldheer who was traded to the Denver Broncos. G Earl Watford, G Alex Boone, T Khalif Barnes T Vinston Painter, C Daniel Munyer, and T John Wetzel are all free agents.

Next month the defense will be examined before the draft. We will then cover the draft needs.

The overall mood of the fans is high concern. The rest of the NFC West seems to be getting better.

End.

"I'd like to thank Fantasy Football Mastermind for all their great information this year. I was in five leagues this year. I made the playoffs in four of the leagues, had the best record in three leagues, went to the championship in three leagues."
-- Fred Masterjohn

"After being cheap for a couple seasons - and having the results to show for it - I subscribed again last year and promptly won my league. You guys do an excellent job. I love the Tiering approach - it really makes it easier to figure out the best way to make good value picks."
-- Brian Hammond

"You already know the quality of the information available on this site, but Mike also responds immediately to customer issues.
