Arizona Cardinals Late August Scouting Report
David Vohs
8/30/2017

The Arizona Cardinals have many issues left to figure out prior to their opening week game in Detroit. I would say there are 5 or 6 final positions that the Cardinals need to figure out. Let’s take a look at the fantasy positions:

QB: The question has been since Day 1 of Training Camp will the Cardinals keep 3 QBs on the roster or 2? We know QB Carson Palmer and QB Drew Stanton are making this team. Will the Cardinals keep QB Blaine Gabbert? I believe they will keep QB Blaine Gabbert on the team and see if another team is willing to deal for him. If the price is right, a trade could happen. If not, the Cardinals COULD have their starter next year or the following year.

RB: RB Chris Johnson is the wild card here. RB Chris Johnson doesn’t play special teams which really hurts his case. In addition, RB Chris Johnson dropped a pass and had a horrible fumble in the last preseason game. However, I think he makes the team. I think the Cardinals keep 4 backs. With the injury to RB T.J. Logan, I think the odd RB out is RB Elijhaa Penny. I don’t know if he is eligible for the practice squad, but I think he will be cut. RB Andre Ellington is showing flashes of his first season and RB Kerwynn Williams is huge on special teams. RB Chris Johnson needs just under 500 yards to get 10,000 yards in the season. Cardinals keep 4. RB David Johnson is your fantasy pick here.

WR: I think the Cardinals will do something different than I would do. I would think about cutting WR Chad Williams and see if you can get him on the practice squad. I would keep WR Aaron Dobson, WR JJ Nelson, WR John Brown, WR Jaron Brown, WR Brittan Golden and WR Larry Fitzgerald. I think TE Ifeanyi Momah could be the #6 WR. WR Jeremy Ross has had an amazing camp and could sneak in. I think fantasy-wise, WR Larry Fitzgerald, WR Jaron Brown, and WR John Brown are your best bets.

TE: TE Jermaine Gresham is on this team. TE Troy Niklas is a big body who can catch. He makes the team. TE Ifeanyi Momah I think could be a slot receiver and be dual purpose. Those 3 make the team.

K: K Phil Dawson will have a great year this year. Grab him.

Defense:

I won’t go into much here. For IDP Players, on this team, I’d go after LB Chandler Jones, LB Markus Golden, LB Karlos Dansby and think about grabbing DL Robert Nkemdiche for IDP picks.

Go Cardinals!

End.

Testimonials

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."

"You already know the quality of the information available on this site, but Mike also responds immediately to customer issues. I did something to mess up my log in to the site and was unable to access it. One call to FFMastermind (Mike personally handled the issue) and things were cleared up and I was back in immediately."
