Arizona Cardinals April Scouting Report
David Vohs
4/24/2017

From last month’s report:

"Draft Needs (in my particular order): MLB, CB, WR, OG, CB, QB, CB, SS

Ideal Draft: Round 1: Reuben Foster LB Round 2: CB Quincy Wilson or CB Jalen Tabor Florida. Hey, I’ll take a 4.7 40 time if he can tackle and cover".

There still is a possibility this could actually happen!

QB: There is still a major discussion about finding QB Carson Palmer’s replacement. The question is, do we get him this year and let him learn on the bench and when Carson is NOT practicing or do we wait for a better QB class next year? I say get QB Pat Mahomes in the second round where he SHOULD be drafted, but he’ll go earlier.

RB: I have seen some mock drafts taking a RB in the second round. Um no! If they are going to do that, trade up and get the boxer RB Joe Mixon who will probably be a Philadelphia Eagle by the end of the draft because they like that sort of violence! The Cardinals have enough depth to NOT draft a RB in the second round. Maybe 5th?

WR: This year or next year the Cardinals need to get a very solid WR but NOT at the expense of a starting LB or CB this year in the first round. In the second round, don’t get a WR this year but see if a good CB falls to you like CB Tre’Davious White LSU. Why not? We love LSU defensive backs!

TE: No No NO!

OL: Yes! We need help at OL for sure. Round 3 or 4 start grabbing big dudes who love to block! G Antonio Garcia, G Dan Feeney could be there.

Round 1: LB Reuben Foster. Please! Just take this guy. He plays violent football and that’s what this team needs!

Round 2: CB is a prime need to fill in across from CB Patrick Peterson. The Cardinals lost CB Marcus Cooper (bummer) and CB Justin Bethel just isn’t the guy. The Cardinals can’t go into training camp with just CB Brandon Williams after he fell apart in his rookie year (no blame, he had only played this position for one year in college).

Round 3: Safety: In a safety deep draft, you need one or two! S Tony Jefferson and S DJ Swearinger were major losses.

Round 4: Wide Receiver: Young, tall and fast. Heck go get WR Taywan Taylor. He isn’t tall but was so productive. He can catch the ball! WR Kenny Goladay from Northern Illinois is 6-4 and 220 pounds. WR Noah Brown is 6-2 222 pounds. WR Robert Tonyan Jr from Indiana State is 6-5 236 pounds maybe in round 5! Take a chance!

I can’t wait for Thursday!

Go Cardinals!

End.
