The Texans have admitted their QB Brock Osweiler mistake, taken their medicine and moved on. The following script will do the same. As of this writing QB Tom Savage is the number one QB on the depth chart. The team will be starved for talent in the QB meetings. Will they gamble on a FA? Probably, and also draft one with their top pick next month. Is QB Tony Romo a possibility? Stranger things have happened.

The current best OL roster prospects include LT Duane Brown, LG Xavier Su’a-Filo, C Nick Martin, C Greg Mancz and RG Jeff Allen. With RT Derek Newton rehabbing two torn patella tendons I don’t believe he is a consideration for this year. Where will the team find a RT? All the decent ones in free agency are gone. The talent available in the draft will be sparse after the first round. As bad as the Texans need a QB don’t be surprised if they pick an OT in the first round of the Draft.

The Texans will be looking for value in the Draft to back up RB Lamar Miller. With all the decent backs this year I could see two rookie RBs coming in and making the team.

The Texans are banking on second year WR Will Fuller and WR Braxton Miller to do more than what they did last year. Clearly Fuller disappointed after a hot start. Braxton will need a dramatic jump at the slot position if he’s going to make the team. WR DeAndre Hopkins is their one but do they have a two? The coaches need third year vet WR Jaelen Strong to finally come around. TE C.J. Fiedorowicz emerged as a must play last year when opposing Ds took away the long ball. The team could use a hot TE but they won’t draft one in the early rounds. Their best hope is that second year undrafted TE Stephen Anderson makes a dramatic jump in playing time this year. He will make a splash in the pre-season but will he perform come Fall? Not much of a blocker but this guy could catch a lot of passes this year. We’ll see.

The fans want to see DE Jadeveon Clowney and DE J.J. Watt on the field playing together. The D lost CB A. J. Bouye and other key performers in free agency. Can this D sustain those losses and again be a top D? Clearly we will have to wait on the Draft, training camp and the season for that answer.

My forecast for the Draft in the first round is the selection of OT Garett Bolles, OT Cam Robinson or QB Pat Mahomes.
