The Seahawks are officially through minicamp and looking ahead to training camp, which kicks off in late July. The front office experienced a summer shakeup when the Minnesota Vikings poached Nolan Teasley to be their new General Manager and Trent Kirchner as Assistant GM. However, General Manager John Schneider's core remains intact, and they promoted Willie Schneider and Matt Berry to Assistant General Manager roles to fill those vacancies. I do not think there is anything to worry about in the front office and the team will soon head to Nashville for an August 21st joint practice with the Titans.
Here is the July fantasy and dynasty outlook for the 2026 Seattle Seahawks as we gear up for the new season.
QB-
The Darnold Decision. QB Sam Darnold continues to be the unquestioned leader of this offense. Darnold has stated that he does not feel he played well in the Super Bowl. My takeaway is that Darnold feels he left something on the table and has something extra driving him to get back and do it again.
- Roster Status:
Sam Darnold (Starter), QB Drew Lock (Backup), QB Jalen Milroe (Developmental).
- Fantasy Perspective:
With the quarterback market exploding across the NFL, there is growing chatter that extending Darnold now, while he has two years left on a highly team-friendly deal, could be the key to keeping Seattle's championship window wide open. On the field, Darnold looked spectacular in minicamp, hitting WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba on gorgeous seam and sideline throws. Meanwhile, Jalen Milroe needs a "big leap" in his second year, and he had a rough start to minicamp by throwing multiple interceptions.
RB-
The Three-Headed Race. The fantasy football community panicked over reports that first-round pick RB Jadarian Price will not immediately have an "every-down role," but dynasty managers need to remain patient. Keep in mind that the Seahawks are saying that Price was not drafted with the immediate expectation of becoming a high-volume starter. He is not being demoted for not meeting expectations, he is right on target with the team's actual expectations.
- Roster Status:
Price is currently splitting reps with RB George Holani and RB Emanuel Wilson, setting up a legitimate three-way competition for early-down work. Wilson stood out during minicamp with his patience, vision, burst, and receiving ability, firmly establishing himself in the mix.
- Fantasy Perspective:
Price is still the explosive upside stash needed to replace RB Kenneth Walker III, but odds are that there will be a committee approach early on as there is no news on Zach Charbonnet's recovery progress from a late-season ACL injury. Do not sleep on the ceiling of Price. His ultimate potential is unknown while Holani and Wilson have been seen. I think Price's floor is their equal. His ceiling may be legendary.
WR-
The Return of Bobo. The Seahawks retained WR Jake Bobo for a reason and fantasy owners should pay attention.
- Roster Composition:
Keeping Bobo ensures the team retains their physical blocker and "power slot" understudy to WR Cooper Kupp, who is widely expected to be entering his final year in Seattle. The team also received fantastic news on WR Tory Horton; while he missed minicamp, he is expected to be ready to practice at the very start of training camp or shortly after.
- Fantasy Perspective:
JSN is an Elite WR1. Bobo is a fantastic dynasty hold given his locked-in future role as Kupp's heir apparent.
TE & FB-
Ouzts Expands His Game. OC Brian Fleury's heavy 12 and 13 personnel packages will be a nightmare for opposing defenses.
- Player Analysis:
While TE AJ Barner and TE Elijah Arroyo are the primary TE targets, keep a close eye on FB Robbie Ouzts. Head coach Mike Macdonald noted that Ouzts is expanding his route tree and lining up in different places, rather than just predictably sitting in the stacked I-formation. Ouzts was even seen catching wheel routes in practice, making him a unique sleeper in this scheme.
Offensive Line-
Trench Updates. The right guard battle is fierce; RG Anthony Bradford had a minor knee scare in minicamp but stayed on the field, while RG Christian Haynes stepped in to take first-team reps. The team also signed veteran OT Bobby Hart because OT Josh Jones is still not ready to practice, an absence that the coaching staff has noted as a point of concern.
Defense (D/ST & IDP)-
Locking Down the Edge.
- The Edge Rush: DE Derick Hall was not only a massive bargain compared to Boye Mafe's new deal in Cincinnati, but advanced metrics suggest Hall is primed for a breakout year. Combined with the return of DeMarcus Lawrence and the free-agent addition of Dante Fowler Jr., this edge group is incredibly potent and arguably an upgrade in comparison to last year.
- The Secondary:
Veteran CB Noah Igbinoghene shined in minicamp coverage, while rookie cornerbacks CB Michael Dansby, CB Julian Neal, and CB Andre Fuller are going to want to show something in training camp after hearing their coach call them out as "swimming a little bit" adjusting to NFL speed. I will be watching to see who has used their time to show up with improvement.
- Fantasy Perspective (IDP):
Buy Derick Hall everywhere. Expect the veterans to command the secondary snaps early, so do not bank on the rookies for immediate IDP production.
2026 Seattle Seahawks: Buy/Sell/Hold
- BUY: EDGE Derick Hall (Locked into a long-term deal and advanced metrics suggest a double-digit sack season is looming).
- SELL:
The Jadarian Price panic (He will be eased in, but his 21.2% explosive run rate is elite and he fits the zone scheme perfectly).
- HOLD:
WR Jake Bobo (Cemented as the heir apparent to Cooper Kupp's power-slot role).
Go Hawks!
End.
