Arizona Cardinals April Scouting Report
David Vohs
4/23/2025

Just ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, we take a quick peek into the Arizona Cardinals’ draft plans.

First, where are the 8-9 Cardinals drafting in 2025?

Round 1, No. 16 overall: The Cardinals' first pick will be made in the first round.

Round 2, No. 47 overall: They have a second-round pick.

Round 3, No. 78 overall: They have a third-round pick.

Round 4, No. 115 overall: They have a fourth-round pick.

Round 5, No. 152 overall: They have a fifth-round pick.

Round 7, No. 225 overall: This pick was acquired from the New York Jets through the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now let’s focus on the first round and what the Arizona Cardinals may be looking to draft.

The highest needs of this team is certainly EDGE Rusher, CB, and WR. Most mock drafts have Texas WR Matthew Golden heading to the Cardinals. Other options could be WR Emeka Egbuka, WR Luther Burden or WR Tetairoa McMillian which would be amazing.

However, given what I saw last year, I seriously think the Cardinals may try to move down to gain more draft capital in the draft. Last year they skipped MULTIPLE Cornerbacks of note to garner more picks in the draft so look for the Cardinals to do the same thing unless they really have someone in mind that fall into their lap. I would LOVE to see them stay in the first round and grab a talent, but if they drop early into the second round and get another day 2 pick that would be outstanding as well. 8 very good defensive linemen rotating in and out can cause more disruption than 4 higher talented linemen.

If I was a betting man I think the Cardinals if they can find suitors will move 3-4 of these picks to garner more picks. I like the strategy but as a fan it is tough to watch some good well known players go off the board and we could have had them. I’m going to have faith in Cardinal Leadership and see how they do. I hated the strategy that cost the Cardinals LB Will Anderson but hey, we are entering a new year!

Looking forward to the draft and Go Cardinals!

End.
