Houston Texans April Scouting Report
David Trojanowsky
4/22/2025

This month the Texans will draft an interior lineman in the first round. The stud G will compete with veteran FAs OG Laken Tomlinson and OG Ed Ingram. OT Cam Robinson and OT Trent Brown are FAs signed to play LT until their new second round T is ready to play. The Texans need their offensive line facade to change from scared lambs to battering RAMS.

This season QB C.J. Stroud will have an opportunity to throw to WR Christian Kirk. Will he be more capable than WR Xavier Hutchinson and WR John Metchie? Count on the Texans drafting two pass catchers in the third round. One of those could be a TE. Last year’s draft produced S Calen Bullock and CB Kamari Lassiter. Will the O have the same production? They better, they only have four selections in the first three rounds. After that only a fifth and two sevenths. There were reasons why WR Christian Kirk and the offensive line FAs they signed were available. The team needs the draft picks to come through.

The Texans job this week is challenging. No way they can draft everything they need. Can they draft anyone that helps, and can they find any college or veteran FAs that will come through? Now comes the best time of the year for people like us. The drama of the NFL Draft!

End.
