Washington Commanders March Scouting Report
David Vohs
3/31/2025

The surprising (do we need to still call them that?!!?) Washington Commanders are facing the 2025 NFL Draft in about 3 weeks and have many options in which they can proceed. The Commanders really need to make an impact in this draft to continue their forward momentum.

Remember, this team averaged 28.5 points a game (5th in the league)

Rushed for 154.1 yards per game (3rd in league)

Had 43 Sacks (11th in league)

Recovered 23 fumbles (6th in league)

And sported the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award winner in QB Jayden Daniels (who was also instrumental in 3 of my fantasy titles!)

So the Commanders sport 2 of the first 61 picks in the draft and 3 of the top 128. No fifth round selection. They could be in a spot to allow someone to move up into the first round to garner more picks. What do the Commanders need:

RB (depth), EDGE (along with everyone in the league!), WR (youth), CB, OL, DT, and S

So there are no lack of needs across the Commanders depth needs for sure. They have a lot to live up to with the 12-5 record.

Some names that I have heard associated with a Commander's Draft:

RB Treyon Henderson - Ohio St. , Edge Oluwafemi Oladejo - UCLA, WR Kyle Williams Wash St., CB, Edge Shemar Stewart - TA&M, Edge Donovan Ezeiruaku - BC, Edge Princely Umanmielen Ole Miss, CB Will Johnson - Michigan, S Xavier Watts, ND. Edge Mike Green - Marshall (if he's there), Edge James Pearce, Tenn.

So many options at pick 29 and further down.

Should be a fun active draft for the Commanders.

Thanks, and Go Commanders!

End.
