Arizona Cardinals February Scouting Report
David Vohs
2/28/2025

With the 2025 NFL Draft upcoming and the Cardinals coming off a real roller coaster season in 2024 as the Cardinals went 8-9 and that may be a bit optimistic with that record compared to how the team performed. They were NOT that good.

The 2025 draft is stocked FULL of defensive studs which aligns to Arizona’s needs very very well. If they can pick up some later round offensive talent then this team will be much improved. The AZ Cardinals need to beef up their defensive line and offensive line through free agency and through the draft.

Some projected Picks:

Round 1 Pick 16: Georgia EDGE Jalon Walker or Georgia Edge Mykel Williams

Round 2 Pick 47: Arizona OT Jonah Savaiinaea or OT Minnesota Aireontae Ersery

Round 3 Pick 78: South Carolina DT T.J. Sanders or DT Mississippi JJ Pegues

Round 4 Pick 113: Iowa State WR Jaylin Noel or Colorado State WR Tony Horton

The Cardinals also have a pick in round 5 and could target DB and then a Round 7 pick and probably add depth on OL or DL.

QB: The contract QB Kyler Murray signed keeps him in AZ for sure. Right now QB Clayton Tune is the backup.

RB: RB James Connor signed an extension to remain the Cardinals’ lead back. RB Michael Carter and RB Dee Jay Dallas are backups. They could use another pounder!

WR: I believe a deep threat is needed but this core is pretty good. WR Marvin Harrison will get better this year I believe. WR Zay Jones and WR Michael Wilson have good talent. One great possession receiver and a deep threat out of free agency and the draft would be smart here.

This team really needs again to improve the trenches, get meaner, and find a deep receiving threat. This could be a good draft to trade down a couple times and pick up more draft picks and add depth at RB and TE behind the starters.

From what I saw of the Cardinals next year, I highly anticipate they will be extremely active whether it’s moving up or down in this draft to continue piling up picks and improving this team. I really liked how they played this year and their intensity. I want to see that improve even more!

End.
