Arizona Cardinals Early August Scouting Report
David Vohs
8/15/2024

Well, I have to say it has been a very very quiet early summer for the Arizona Cardinals. They didn’t headline the news, they didn’t make huge trades, they have just gone about their business and started working towards getting better in the NFC West.

Let’s review where we are for Fantasy Football:

QB: QB Kyler Murray is set for an entire season under center and ready to challenge for a Division Title! That’s the bottom line. If QB Kyler Murray gets hurt, the Cardinals will quickly become and average team. That’s exactly what you want in a leader and quarterback. Get Murray where you can! QB Desmond Ridder and QB Claton Tune will not strike fear into opponents, especially in the NFC West.

RB: RB James Conner leads the running back squad with a host of people backing him up including RB Trey Benson, RB Emari Demercado, RB DeeJayDallas, RB Michael Carter and a couple others. Look for RB James Conner and RB Trey Benson to get the majority of the work but I’d like to see RB Michael Carter get a shot at some work!

WR: This room has turned around quickly. WR Marvin Harrison Jr leads the team and will share the field with WR Greg Dortch and WR Michael Wilson. Backing them up will be WR Zay Jones and WR Zach Pascal as well as WR Chris Moore – there is more depth behind these guys as well.

TE: TE Trey McBride time! Elijah Higgins will fight of 4 others for the backup spot, but we know the big Colorado State grad will be battling for the #1 TE spot in fantasy leagues this year.

K: PK Matt Prater – enough said

The Cardinals continue working in training camp. Last year their execution got better, their defense got better, and they were in most of the games they played. If their trend lines continue upward, this team could fight for the last playoff spot or at least help people to some fantasy football wins!

On a side note: I keep hearing that WR Marvin Harrison Jr cannot get separation, is slow, looks slow, etc. In one league, all, I’m taking him at 1.01 with ZERO hesitation!

Go Cardinals!

End.
