New York Giants July Scouting Report
Tony DeArmas
7/27/2024

Here is the Giants update for July three days into training camp:

QB Daniel Jones has been cleared for 11:11’s and seems to be moving well. The team has committed to him this year and has provided weapons for him to succeed. But he has no guaranteed money after 2024 in his contract so this truly is a make-or-break year for DJ. He has looked good throwing the deep ball so far in camp too.

RB Devin Singletary will set the tone in the young running back room. There are several young backs who could be playmakers with their explosive skill sets. Two that come to mind currently are RB Tyrone Tracy Jr and RB Dante "Turbo" Miller. RB Eric Gray is expected to take a big step forward in his second year.

WR Malik Nabers is a dog according to HC Brian Daboll. He is correct on that assessment. Nabers already is making big plays three days into camp, and this won’t be changing. The other players like WR Wan’dale Robinson, WR Darius Slayton and speedy WR Jalin Hyatt provide a nice mix of skill sets. Hyatt has improved greatly in his second year thus far.

The tight end position is a bit muddled at the moment. Rookie TE Theo Johnson was placed on the PUP list and there isn’t a timetable yet for his return. He will be missing valuable training camp reps. TE Daniel Bellinger becomes the defacto starter. There isn’t much receiving chops with the remainder of this group.

The defense will look quite different this year under new DC Shane Bowen. But I think it will be better, especially with stud EDGE Brian Burns teaming up with DT Dexter Lawrence and EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux. This trio will be a headache for opposing offenses. Star LB Bobby Okereke returns, and young CB Deonte Banks is a budding talent.

PK Graham Gano should have a solid bounce back season after an injury marred campaign last year.

That’s it for now.

More to come in August with preseason game news….

End.

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."
