Cincinnati Bengals July Scouting Report
Mark Huber
7/9/2023

There is no news to report for the Bengals as the start of training camp nears.

Training camp practices open to the public, in some cases season ticketholders only, are July 26, July 27, July 28, July 29, July 31, August 1, August 3, August 4, August 6, August 7, August 9, August 13, August 14, August 16.

Check the Bengals app or website for more information. There are 14 open practices in all, with four for season ticketholders.

Camp starts July 26.

From a fantasy perspective, going in to training camp there aren’t many competitions that should impact your lineups. Maybe your roster, but barring injury lineups won’t be altered much by these battles.

RB Chase Brown and RB Trayveon Williams appear to be headed to a collision course as the top backup to RB Joe Mixon. If I were guessing I would say Williams get the first shot but Brown can take over later on in the year if he impresses.

The top three wide receivers are set but beyond that there is competition. Again, not sure you’ll start any of these guys. WR Trenton Irwin, WR Charlies Jones, WR Andrei Iosivas are the top three backups and will likely make some preseason game noise.

If Boyd and/or Higgins leaves after this season, one of these wideouts may move in to the top three so having one could pay off down the road but not likely a game-winner this season.

On the defensive side, you might get a start or two out of DE Myles Murphy or DE Joseph Assai. They are backups who could earn situational time that could prove worthy.

DB Jordan Battle I think will be a starting safety so get the rookie if you can as a precursor to him being named the starter.

Beyond any of these positions, there doesn’t appear to be any starting slots open, again barring injury.

This team is strong enough that if someone is injured their backup could move in to a prominent role, so keep an keen eye out for any injury news.

End.

Testimonials

"Thanks as always for the best service in the business. You run the highest quality fantasy service on the market today!"
-- Michael Barnes

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."
-- Sal B.

"Your site is great and I am hooked. I will be a subscriber as long as I play. Great Job and if you use my testimony please only use my first name I dont want my opponents to know I use this site. Sorry..."
-- James G.

"First year as a FF Mastermind Premium Subscriber and first year winning our league championship. Coincidence??? I don't think so! Thanks Mike!"
-- Mike St. Clair

"Well worth the $60 to 'buy" myself another fantasy championship. If only my competitors knew my secret!"
-- Billy Millen

"After being cheap for a couple seasons - and having the results to show for it - I subscribed again last year and promptly won my league. You guys do an excellent job. I love the Tiering approach - it really makes it easier to figure out the best way to make good value picks."
-- Brian Hammond
