Houston Texans Late August Scouting Report
David Trojanowsky
8/22/2022

The Texans take on the 49’ers at home this week. QB Davis Mills needs more reps; the Texans O with him at the helm have been boring. The offensive line so far is suspect. First round pick OG Kenyon Green is not ready. RB Marlon Mack does not look like the back I remember from two years ago. RB Dameon Pierce has looked the best, but is running behind that weak blocking…

WR Brandin Cooks is being saved for the real season. WR Nico Collins is starting to come around; he’s shown that he’s tough and can make plays in the end zone. Slot receiver WR Phillip Dorsett II will win that job. TE Brevin Jordan is not progressing. The Texans will be looking at the waiver wire for decent tight end play. The Texans are sucking along the OL. The O looks like a 4-13 team.

The D is progressing. Rookies CB Derek Stingley Jr and FS Jalen Pitre will go a long way toward fixing that leaky secondary. The defense plays turn over football. DE Jonathan Greenard and DT Roy Lopez have progressed. Looks like DT Ross Blacklock will be cut, he cannot keep up with the FA DTs. The defense looks like a 9-8 team.

I expect the Texans to try to improve the offensive line and bring in FA TEs in the last two weeks before Opening Day.

Sans competition, PK Ka'imi Fairbairn has won the job. With the O coming up short, he may have many opportunities this season.

End.

Testimonials

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."

"Mike, I'm back in with you buddy. Don't know how many years I've been with you, but I could not bear the thought of playing fantasy this year, without your services -- no matter what my job situation is."
-- C. Savoni

"Great job with another SI.com Championship- clearly you rule that kingdom with FOUR championships in a row! And to win it being the #4 seed, too. Awesome job!"
-- John Pittman

"After being cheap for a couple seasons - and having the results to show for it - I subscribed again last year and promptly won my league. You guys do an excellent job. I love the Tiering approach - it really makes it easier to figure out the best way to make good value picks."
-- Brian Hammond

"Thanks again for helping me win 3 championships in 4 years. Your premium services are great. Considering I won over $4,500 (net) in four years, I would say your service is quite a bargain."
-- K. Rogers
