Houston Texans April Scouting Report
David Trojanowsky
4/6/2022

It's time to bite the bullet for the Texans. As much as I’d like to see some of the outstanding college D be drafted by the Texans it’s time to fix the offensive line in the Draft. I’m forecasting the Texans selecting OT Evan Neal or OT Ikem Ekwonu with their first selection followed by C Tyler Linderbaum or OG Kenyon Green with their next selection in the first round.

They want to select DT Jordan Davis, CB Ahmad Gardner and/or S Kyle Hamilton, and probably will, but that offensive line should be their priority. They need to protect QB Davis Mills in 2022 or maybe QB Bryce Young in 2023 if Mills flounders. The Texans will have three number one draft selections next year to trade; they will have an opportunity to make Bryce Young coming to Houston happen.

Beginning round two the Texans should have eight or nine sections left to continue re-stocking. They need everything on both sides of the ball. WRs should be their next priority. They are plentiful this year. Not so much TEs. The Texans need more of both. Will WR Nico Collins and TE Brevin Jordan show marked improvement in their second year? Same is true with RBs. With the Texans signing RB Marlon Mack and RB Scottie Phillips getting his chance the Texans have an absolute need for a college tailback or two. Undrafted FAs would be welcome.

Will the Texans take a major stab at fixing that OL? God knows it’s in Mills prayers every night.

This D only works well if it can put pressure on the QB. I don’t know if the drafters can find what they need after round two. Are there defensive gems there after round two? Absolutely! The trick is drafting them and coaching them up.

With the third overall pick in the draft expect a trade offer from some team that has targeted one of the studs. Trading down for multiple choices will be an option come draft day.

For those of you like me this is the most exciting time of the season. Stay tuned.

End.

"You already know the quality of the information available on this site, but Mike also responds immediately to customer issues. I did something to mess up my log in to the site and was unable to access it. One call to FFMastermind (Mike personally handled the issue) and things were cleared up and I was back in immediately."

"Picked up my second consecutive championship in the major league I play in. $1,100 first prize! First back to back winner in league history and my 3rd Fantasy Bowl in a row. Thanks for the help throughout the year!"
-- Brett H.

"After being cheap for a couple seasons - and having the results to show for it - I subscribed again last year and promptly won my league. You guys do an excellent job. I love the Tiering approach - it really makes it easier to figure out the best way to make good value picks."
-- Brian Hammond

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."
-- Sal B.

"Great job with another SI.com Championship- clearly you rule that kingdom with FOUR championships in a row! And to win it being the #4 seed, too. Awesome job!"
-- John Pittman
