New York Giants May Scouting Report
Here is the Giants update for May after the completion of the draft:
QB Daniel Jones has been given plenty of weapons and needs to have a good year if he expects to be the quarterback for the G-Men after this season. Apparently, his hamstring and ankle injuries last year were more serious than revealed so he also needs to stay healthy. QB Mike Glennon is a solid backup.
RB Saquon Barkley has been looking good in his rehab and should be 100%. Veteran RB Deonte Booker adds 3 down depth.
WR Kenny Golladay, WR Sterling Shepard, WR Darius Slayton and exciting rookie 1st round pick WR Kadarius Toney will make things happen. Toney is a Tyreek Hill type of player and OC Jason Garrett needs to get him 10 touches a game if possible. What I like about this group is they have a diverse group of skill sets.
TE Evan Engram continues to be an enigma wrapped up in a conundrum. His physical gifts are undeniable. TE Kyle Rudolph will bring veteran leadership and much needed consistency to the position as well as an established red zone presence.
DC Patrick Graham got a terrific value with edge rushing 2nd round pick LB Azeez Ojulari. Many pundits say he was the best edge rusher in this year's draft. Big Blue also drafted CB Aaron Robinson in the 3rd round. You can never have enough good cornerbacks in this passing league!
That's it for now.
More to come in June...
