Los Angeles Rams April Scouting Report
Layton Pang
4/23/2021

Another year another Draft and no first round pick for the Rams! Los Angeles made the bid off season trade to acquire QB Mathew Stafford and head into the 2021 Draft with six picks and several positions to fill. The biggest areas of need are Linebacker, O-line (especially Center), D-line, and Cornerback. Let’s take a look at the picks the Rams have and players who could be available at that draft slot. The number in parenthesis is the overall pick.

ROUND 2, PICK 25 (57): Los Angeles needs better play from the Linebacker position and two players that I like here are LB Jabril Cox (LSU) and LB Jamin Davis (Kentucky). The Rams haven’t picked a linebacker early since Alec Ogletree so they may look at that position later. If the Rams decide to address the offensive line first, they could take one of the top three prospects if available; OL Landon Dickerson (Alabama), OL Quinn Meinerz (Wisconsin-Whitewater), or OL Creed Humphrey (Oklahoma). Jabril Cox (Daniel Jeremiah’s pick) would be a great pick. I think the Rams could also go with Meinerz and that would be fine too.

ROUND 3, PICK 25 (88): This pick depends on what Los Angeles does in Round 2. If they go linebacker first, then O-line should be next. I would be ecstatic if the Rams landed two of the players mentioned above with their first two picks; however, other possible linebackers who could be solid are LB Dylan Moses (Alabama) and LB Chazz Surratt (North Carolina). At O-line, Los Angeles could take a player to groom at left tackle. OL Dillon Radunz (North Dakota State) and OL Walker Little (Stanford) are two players with potential. I think Rams take Moses or Radunz depending on their first pick.

ROUND 3, PICK 40 (103): The Rams need D-line and cornerback depth so I think either position could be drafted here. He will probably be gone by this pick but I would love the Rams to take my favorite name of the Draft DE Boogie Basham (Wake Forest). If Los Angeles goes defensive back, DB Elijah Molden (Washington) is a player who could help this team.

ROUND 4, PICK 36 (141): The Rams have a done a decent job finding players who develop into starters and DE Rashad Weaver (Pittsburgh) could be that type of player. If the Rams go D-line with this pick. If the line is CB Shaun Wade (Ohio State) is a player that was once considered a first round talent and could regain that play with the right team.

ROUND 6, PICK 25 (209 and ROUND 7, PICK 25 (252): These last two pick will be used on players who can hopefully make the team and contribute. Last year Los Angeles was fortunate to select Jordan Fuller who will be a starter.

More to come next month!

End.
