New York Giants February Scouting Report
Tony DeArmas
2/26/2021

Big Blue heads into the offseason with the #11 overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft. Most draft pundits have them picking either a receiver, edge rusher or cornerback at that spot. It will come down to who will be there for them. All 3 fill a position of need. There will be no NFL combine this year so the pro days will be important.

QB Daniel Jones received a vote of confidence and deservedly so. He struggled through several injuries and spotty pass protection last year. He has the physical and mental tools to be an NFL quarterback, he just needs a supporting cast.

RB Saquon Barkley is poised for a big season after rehabbing an ACL injury. This will give the offense a shot in the arm as he is a true 3 down back. RB Wayne Gallman showed he is a more than capable backup and will be retained.

WR Sterling Shepard leads the receiving corps accompanied by WR Darius Slayton. WR Golden Tate will not be retained. Big Blue will either draft a receiver or go for a big-name free agent like WR Allen Robinson, WR Kenny Golladay, or WR Chris Godwin. They will need to clear cap room in order to do that.

TE Evan Engram is a conundrum wrapped up in an enigma. His physical skills are undeniable but he will break your heart every now and then. Regardless, he is a matchup nightmare and should be retained. He managed to stay healthy most of the year and made the Pro Bowl team.

DL Leonard Williams is coming off a big season and needs to be locked up with a long-term deal. They also need to address the lack of a top shelf edge rusher. This will really get this promising unit to the next level.

PK Graham Gano had an outstanding year and signed a long term deal.

That's it for now. More to come in March...

End.

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."
-- Sal B.

"I'd like to thank Fantasy Football Mastermind for all their great information this year. I was in five leagues this year. I made the playoffs in four of the leagues, had the best record in three leagues, went to the championship in three leagues."
-- Fred Masterjohn

"After being cheap for a couple seasons - and having the results to show for it - I subscribed again last year and promptly won my league. You guys do an excellent job. I love the Tiering approach - it really makes it easier to figure out the best way to make good value picks."
-- Brian Hammond
