The Arizona Cardinals open the 2020 COVID season and training season amid this horrible COVID-19 train wreck.

One piece of good news, in the NFL Top 100 Players for 2020 as voted by the players, WR Larry Fitzgerald came in at #69 this year. This marks the 10^th year in a row (and all the votes) that WR Larry Fitzgerald has made the list and is the ONLY player to be on the list that is not a QB. Congrats WR Larry Fitzgerald! I’m sure we’ll be talking about all your accomplishments a LOT this year. I do look for Larry to play this year and next year chasing WR Jerry Rice’s records.

Other players in the Top 100 for the Cardinals are: QB Kyler Murray (90), OLB Chandler Jones (15), WR DeAndre Hopkins (08), WR Larry Fitzgerald (69), and S Budda Baker (98). Not a bad representation. CB Patrick Peterson fell out and hopefully will be looking to get back into the top 100 next year!

So far the Arizona Cardinals have not had any players opt out for the season. That will help them quite a bit. Training camp is scheduled to start on July 21 with Rookies and then QBs and injured players report on 23 July and then full roster on July 28. I sure hope they are not pushing this and COVID stays away.

The Cardinals did make one move signing T Kelvin Beachum to a one year contract to create some depth on the offensive line at tackle. T Kelvin Beachum was drafted in the 7^th round by the Steelers and the last 3 years has played with the NY Jets starting 45 games at left tackle. Beachum has started 99 of his 104 games so that adds some very good depth.

So for now, the Cardinals are predicted to come in around 7-9 to 8-8. I am hoping this team comes together and can do a game or two better than that and make the playoffs. Time will tell. August will be a huge month and we’ll cover the cuts and additional signees at that point.
