Houston Texans June Scouting Report
David Trojanowsky
6/25/2020

I always have high hopes this time of the year. By now we should have experienced a mini-camp and have formed our unrealistic expectations about new players and the team. Not so this year. I think that even playing this year is an unrealistic expectation! That said I will share the latest of what I hear around the campfire.

Doubts concerning second year TE Kahale Warring. Will he emerge as a player or another of the Texans well documented third round duds? He has stiff competition. TE Jordon Thomas and TE Jordon Akins are third year players who should make their mark this year.

Free-agent DT Timmy Jernigan decided to blow off signing with the Texans. Have not a clue about who if anyone will be in line for that roster spot. This should be an opportunity for free-agent rookie NT Auzoyah Alufohai. DT Ross Blacklock is expected to provide a push up the middle. This team was last in stopping Red Zone scores last year. Both these rookies need the reps now.

QB Nick Tiano, RB Scottie Phillips and OG Cordel Iwuagwu are undrafted free agents I would love to be discussing right now. No practice, not much to discuss on this end.

With $19 million of remaining cap cash, the team could bring in more defensive talent.

Bottom line is that the defense has not seen an infusion of talent. I believe the team anticipates being able to build a highlight reel offense. Bad defense; great offense sounds like a good fantasy team to me. I wish I had more, but it’s dry here in Houston.

End.

Testimonials

"I began using FFM in the late 1990s. For 20+ years they were an extremely valuable resource, as I enjoyed great success in my league during that period. Unfortunately, my league came to an end during the Covid years, and I stopped subscribing to FFM. After a year without Fantasy Football, I started looking into online sports betting and quickly realized FFM could again become a valuable source of information for prop bets on individual players. I resumed my subscription with FFM and have not looked back. FFM is clearly a dual threat; they can severely increase your odds of success in both fantasy leagues as well as prop betting. I almost feel guilty with the tremendous returns I get from such a modest investment in FFM."
