After decades of awful play the STs were the Texans most improvedpart of the 2018 team. PK Ka'imi Fairbairn led the NFL with 150 points. P Trevor Daniel put 36 punts inside the 20; 15 inside the 10.They did not allow an opposing team a return for a TD. Undrafted DB A.J. Moore and RB Gregory Howell were signed off other teams at the end of pre-season. They were key forming thissuccessful special team squad.The Texans didn’t draft ST players;rather scouted them in the pre-season and stole them at the final cut down.

The Texans found dependable TE play last year with a third and sixth round draft picks. They had to spend most of the season blocking instead of catching passes due to poor OL play.TE Darren Fells is a FA signing that is expected to improve the blocking allowing both second year TE Jordon Thomas and TE Jordon Akins an opportunity to develop.

The OL returnsplayers like RT Seantrel Henderson, LT Julie’n Davenport, C Nick Martin,G Martinas Rankinand C-G Greg Mancz. Ouch! An infusion of talent is desperately needed. With luck Davenport may be a serviceable swing T. Martin so far has been a disappointment. Mancz seems to be the best of this OL but they play him as a back-upC-G.I think the problem is a lack of a mean streak in any of the starters.The Texans MUST draft two tackles with their three picks in the first three rounds. They have interior bodies. LT Matt Kalil has signed as a FA. Can he stay healthy?

RB Lamar Miller and RB D’onta Foreman are the team’s hope but another effective RB must be found.

WR Will Fuller, WR DeAndre Hopkins and WR Keke Coutee could make an effective receiving corps but decent back-up must emerge. Can WR Vyncint Smith emerge?

S Kareem Jackson and S Tyrann Mathieu left in FA. S Justin Reid and S Andre Hall are holdovers with FA S Tashaun Gipson joining the squad. CB Aaron Colvin went from FA hope to SUSPECT due to a very disappointing years in 2018. Can he re-emerge?The team MUST draft talented CBs next month.

With plenty cap cash available the Texans will have the money to add FA talent through the Spring and Summer.
