2024 First Fantasy Football Thoughts: AFC/NFC North

by Michael Nazarek - 7/19/2024

It's time to take a closer look at the North Division teams to see how they are shaping up in July. Let’s get right to it…

AFC NORTH

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens made the playoffs in 2023, but didn't make the big game. QB Lamar Jackson did everything he could to get them there, but he just came up a bit short. With regard to fantasy, Jackson is a solid top 5 QB, mostly due to his running ability. In the running game, RB J.K. Dobbins and RB Gus Edwards are gone, as the team signed veteran RB Derrick Henry to carry the load. Henry will definitely do that and with a much better OL, he should produce more consistently in 2024. That makes him a borderline top 10 RB for fantasy in PPR leagues. RB Justice Hill returns to back up Henry, while RB Keaton Mitchell (torn ACL) is expected to miss the first part of the season due to his knee injury. In the passing game, WR Zay Flowers returns as the clear WR1 for the team, and solid WR3 for fantasy. WR Rashod Bateman also returns, as the team hopes he can pick up his game enough to be productive most weeks. WR Nelson Agholor returns as the WR3, but will remain spotty for fantasy production. Veteran WR Deonte Harty and rookie WR Devontez Walker will provide depth. At tight end, TE Mark Andrews returns and remains the primary scoring threat in the passing game. Andrews is an elite talent, coming off a serious ankle injury. As long as he's healthy, he is a top 5 TE for fantasy. TE Isaiah Likely returns to back up and play alongside Andrews. Veteran PK Justin Tucker returns, coming off another quality season, and remains an elite fantasy kicker in 2024.
