Fox 4 reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice continues to face criminal and civil proceedings in the aftermath of a March 2024 street-racing crash in Dallas. A third lawsuit has now been filed against him. Kayla Quinn alleges that she and her son sustained physical and mental injuries when their car was struck during the race involving Rice. They sued both Rice and former SMU football player Theodore Knox. Quinn and her son seek between $250,000 and $1 million in damages. Two other lawsuits were filed against Rice and Knox in April 2024. They separately have been charged with multiple crimes. The prosecution is pending. The league does not plan to take action against Rice until the criminal case has ended.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Miami Dolphins have had trade discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers about their lone Pro-Bowl selection last season, TE Jonnu Smith, per league sources. Those talks came after Smith expressed an interest in reworking his deal that is scheduled to pay him $4.8 million this season. With Smith seeking a new contract, Miami has sought a trade partner. Last season, Smith set the franchise record for a tight end in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Smith’s preference, per sources, is to stay in Miami under a reworked deal.

PackersNews.com reports Green Bay Packers WR Christian Watson (torn ACL) opened Wednesday’s OTA practice on the field while the team was stretching before moving over to the rehab field. HC Matt LaFleur did not say when Watson, who was injured in Week #18, might be ready for a fuller workload, but he did say he thinks it could be sooner than originally expected. “Christian is doing outstanding,” LaFleur said. “I would say he’s ahead of schedule, but I’m not a doctor. I’m not medical staff. So we’ll see where he’s at.” Being placed on the PUP list to open training camp seems likely for Watson and remaining on the list into the regular season would keep him out for at least four games.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Eagles DE Bryce Huff has not attended any of the team’s workouts this spring. While the workouts are voluntary, his absence may be part of an agreement with the team. Huff is guaranteed $16.75 million this season and trading him after June 1st would provide some cap relief, so keeping him off the field and able to pass a physical could be part of the team’s thinking. Huff signed a three-year deal with the Eagles last year with thoughts that he’d have a role in their pass rush, but he posted 2.5 sacks before missing time with injury and wound up inactive for the team’s Super Bowl win over the Chiefs.

NBC Sports reports Philadelphia Eagles TE Dallas Goedert agreed to a pay cut that guaranteed his $10 million salary and offers more money in incentives. On Wednesday, Goedert said “there were definitely days that were filled with emotion” before the revised deal came together and that he’s now trying to enjoy the moment rather than fret about what will happen when his deal is up at the end of the season. “I’m really excited about this year,” Goedert said. “Obviously, I’d love to play my entire career in Philadelphia, but I’m not too worried about [the future]. I’m excited to see what happens this year. Excited to put up a really good year, have a successful year with an incredible team and let my agent handle his job and talks after the season. . . . I’m super stoked to be back here. Got a lot of love for a lot of people in this building. Got a lot of love for Philadelphia. So super glad to be back. And we’ve got high expectations and I want to help us get back to where we were last year.”
