2021 PSDG: 2021 Target Share Projections (Preview)

Overview:

The projections are based on a number of historical statistics for each player and team, including targets per game, catch percentage, yards per reception, team passing volume, as well as small adjustments to these numbers based on changes on team depth charts, and quarterback situations. The numbers will look inflated due to the addition of an extra regular season game and the assumption that all players will play all 17 games. Obviously, injuries will occur, but I don’t project injuries since they can happen to anyone. The total target share for each team will also not add up to 100% as total passing attempts was the dividend for the target share projections, to take into account pass catchers with lower volume that are not included in the article.
