Sweat, 22, was arrested by Austin police and booked into Travis County jail at 2:12 p.m. Sunday. Driving while intoxicated is a Class B misdemeanor. Bond was set at $3,000.

ESPN reports NFL draft prospect CB Cooper DeJean’s final season at Iowa ended with a fractured fibula, but he said at the Scouting Combine that he’d been medically cleared. He has informed teams that he’s also been cleared for all football activities and that he will work out for interested clubs at the school on April 8th. DeJean’s workout is expected to include all on-field testing and position drills.

NFL.com reports NFL owners have approved the NFL Hybrid Kickoff rule, per source. Under the new rules, any kickoff that ends up in the “landing zone” (between the goal line and the 20 yard line) must be returned. The changes will essentially stop touchbacks, which would award the ball at the 35 yard line. One ramification of the XFL-style kickoff is the elimination of the surprise onside kick. Teams now have to declare when they are attempting an onside kick. They get only two per game, and neither can take place before the fourth quarter.
