Atlanta Falcons March Scouting Report
David Vohs
3/31/2017

Free Agent Report:

The Atlanta Falcons have had some success in free agency. The Atlanta Falcons have signed WR Andre Roberts to a very modest contract, TE Levine Toilolo re-signed, DE Jack Crawford from Dallas, DT Dontari Poe moved from Kansas City to Atlanta. Atlanta also re-signed SS Kemal Ishmael, LB LaRoy Reynolds, CB Blindi Wreh-Wilson, and OG Hugh Thornton to one-year contracts.

In the loss column for free agents, the Falcons lost (from the Super Bowl losing team) FB Patrick DiMarco, WR Aldrick Robinson, LB Paul Worrilow, WR Eric Weems, and OT Tom Compton. No significant losses that I can tell.

The Falcons really don’t NEED anything as they were in the Super Bowl, but there might be a need at OG, and DE and DT on the defensive side. The Falcons would like a very good edge rusher but picking at #31 it won’t be one of the top ones in the draft. You might see the Falcons grabbing a Guard and perhaps the best guard in the draft as a value pick at the end of the first round.

If there is a good defensive lineman, they could go that way as well. I have seen a few MOCK drafts having the Falcons Draft DT Caleb Brantley from Florida and a DE in the second round with DE Jordan Willis KSU. Now, obviously, these mock drafts are about 20% accurate, but it shows where Atlanta may focus.

The Falcons look to be a contender once again in 2017.

End.
