Well, the Cardinals went out with a loss to the Denver Broncos in their final preseason game. But that’s not the big story. There will be a quarterback controversy in Arizona all year unless they make the playoffs. Then people will not care.
QB Matt Leinart had a tremendous bounce back game at home. I believe the Cardinals should start QB Kurt Warner on the road and QB Matt Leinart at home. Perfect!
No real surprises in the cuts the Cardinals made and none impact fantasy football.
Overall let’s look at the starters for the Cardinals:
QB Kurt Warner. He slings the ball with the best of them and I think should be a top 10 quarterback this year.
RB Edgerrin James is ready for another 1200 yard season and 7-9 TDs. I think he will look better this year with young RB Tim Hightower giving him a push for playing time. RB Tim Hightower had better be on your radar this year!
WR Larry Fitzgerald and WR Anquan Boldin should both be starters. Look for a continuing battle between WR Jeremy Urban and WR Steve Breaston for the #3 spot.
K Neil Rackers should be left alone until he starts showing me something.
Cardinals DST is one I’d think about as a sleeper pick. They look just awesome this year and will create havoc around the ball.
I look for a very competitive season from the Cardinals and 9-7 is not out of the realm of possibilities.
Look for Week 1 Review soon for the Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers. If the Cards can win this game, they have a solid footing from which to move forward.
