T.O. Breaks Finger; OUT 2-4 Weeks --
The
Dallas Morning News reports Cowboys WR Terrell
Owens just revealed that the ring finger on right hand
has been broken. He said he expects to have surgery Monday, likely
to have pins and a plate inserted. Owens said he did not know
how the injury happened but that his hand likely was caught in
an opponent's jersey. "It came at a good time," Owens said. "With
a bye week next week, I have at least two weeks to heal." It's
expected that he'll miss 2-4 weeks of action. The team has a BYE
next week.

Mike's View --
If
an injury like this had to happen, this is the time for it to
minimize the time WR Terrell Owens will miss.
Expect Owens to miss Week #4 against the Titans, and possibly
the week #5 match-up against Philly. The primary target becomes
WR Terry Glenn , who will now draw top corner
coverage. That hurts a bit, but Glenn is talented enough to produce
despite that, especially against the sad-sack Titans. WR
Patrick Crayton scored tonight, catching two passes
for 14 yards. Crayton becomes the #2 WR opposite Glenn while Owens
is out. In addition, look for TE Jason Witten
and rookie TE Anthony Fasano to see more looks.
QB Drew Bledsoe could be adversely affected
against the Eagles in week #5 without Owens, but he would still
be a good play against the Titans in two weeks. Bottom Line: Owens
owners need to pick up a good free agent off their league waiver
wire like perhaps Bears WR Bernard Berrian ,
who scored again today and caught 5 passes for 89 yards. More
to come in tonight's late-night Waiver Wire, which will be posted
on the site within the hour.
Best
Regards,
Michael Nazarek
